Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Provide leadership to engineering teams, focusing on multiple areas and owning complete solutions across their entire life cycle.
- Platform Development: Envision, design, and deliver platform capabilities that enrich the GEICO tech ecosystem for a broad variety of teams.
- Collaboration and Influence: Influence and build vision with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve complex problems for building enterprise-class business applications.
- Quality and Performance: Accountable for the quality, usability, and performance of solutions, leading in design sessions and code reviews to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization.

Essential Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Fluency and specialization in at least two modern languages, such as Java, .NET, Go, or Rust, including object-oriented design.
- Microservices Architecture: Experience in building products using microservices architecture and extensible GraphQL and gRPC APIs.
- Cloud Computing: Experience with commercial cloud environments, such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, and fluency in DevOps concepts, cloud architecture, and Azure DevOps operational framework.
- Security and Monitoring: Experience with security protocols and products, application monitoring tools, and performance assessments.
- Education and Experience: BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience, with 6+ years of professional software development experience within a Java, .NET, or Go framework.
