Senior Front-End Engineer (React/TypeScript) (U.S. Remote - Occasional Office Visits Required)

Overview Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Front-End Engineer with strong experience in building modern, scalable web applications using React and TypeScript. The ideal candidate is proficient in component-driven architecture, GraphQL client integration, state management, and front-end DevOps practices. Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain React applications using TypeScript, with a focus on performance, accessibility, and maintainability. • Build efficient GraphQL operations. • Develop reusable, well-tested UI components and maintain a consistent design system. • Deploy releases and hotfixes to production environments. • Debug issues in production or development environments. • Write unit/integration tests as part of each feature/bug fix. • Collaborate cross-functionally with back-end engineers and product stakeholders to deliver robust and maintainable systems. • Apply front-end best practices for performance, accessibility, security, and code quality. • Participate in code reviews, contribute to engineering standards, and support continuous improvement across the team. Qualifications • 5+ years of professional experience in front-end software development. • Strong proficiency with TypeScript and React. • Experience with GraphQL clients (Apollo Client or equivalent) and consuming API schemas. • Solid understanding of component architecture, state management patterns, and modern React paradigms. • Familiarity with AWS-hosted front-end infrastructure (S3, CloudFront, API Gateway). • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control workflows. • Able to perform root cause analysis on issues within the application. • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional teams. Preferred Knowledge (Nice-to-Have): • Familiarity with AWS CDK or IaC for front-end infrastructure configuration. • Performance optimization techniques (code splitting, lazy loading, caching strategies). • Accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA / 508 compliance). • FedRAMP or other certification knowledge. Clearance: Applicants may need to be the subject of a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information, to include U.S. Citizenship. Compensation: Base Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 Final compensation will depend on factors such as geographic location, experience, and qualifications. In-Person Interview: Our hiring process requires one in-person meeting, typically the final interview. Travel and accommodations will be provided. Remote Work: Though predominantly remote, infrequent office visits will be required, typically quarterly. All travel costs for these visits will be covered by Unison.
