The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for managing and developing key Transportation accounts, focusing on existing business and sales growth while providing technical training and assistance to customers.
Responsibilities
- Managing and developing key Transportation accounts
- Responsible for existing business and sales growth of all TRA products direct to these customers
- Penetration of these accounts to achieve maximum sales potential
- Provide technical training and assistance to customers
- Work closely with the NA Sales Manager – Transportation to effectively grow business
- Prepare reports for management on sales activity
- Responsible for annual sales forecasting, competitive intelligence, and new business opportunity tracking
- 30-40% travel on the road, visiting customers
- Responsible for management of existing customers and current programs
- Identify and win new business opportunities
- Responsibility for the development of new business and developing customer relationships
Skills
- Highly OEM and Tier 1 customer focused
- Strong closing skills, prospecting skills, sales planning and presentation skills
- The ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Self-managed and self-starter
- 10+ years experience in Sales/Business Development roles that has been highly focused within the Transportation market and working with Tier 1 suppliers
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with equivalent work/industry experience
