[Remote] Staff Mobile Engineer - Mobile Platform

They are seeking a Staff Mobile Engineer to build scalable mobile platform infrastructure and foundational frameworks that support over 20 engineering teams in developing high-availability applications for millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable mobile platform infrastructure supporting high-availability applications
• Create foundational frameworks that enable efficient development across 20-25 engineering teams
• Optimize performance for diverse device types, including low-end Android devices
• Architect solutions for large-scale consumer mobile applications serving various industries
• Lead technical initiatives to reduce complexity and improve developer productivity
• Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Skills

• Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of mobile development related experience
• Extensive experience with large-scale consumer mobile applications
• Proven track record building platform-level mobile infrastructure and frameworks serving millions of customers daily
• Strong expertise in mobile performance optimization and scalability
• Experience supporting multiple engineering teams through platform solutions
• Deep understanding of mobile architecture patterns and best practices
• React Native experience (our apps are primarily React Native-based)
• Experience with cross-platform mobile development
• A blend of experience from both fast-paced startup/entrepreneurial environments and large-scale big tech companies
• A track record of technical leadership in fast-growing companies
