Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Clearwater is a virtual company seeking a Senior Network Engineer and Firewall Implementation. The role involves implementing, managing, and maintaining client firewalls and switches, along with mentoring SOC resources and handling cybersecurity incidents.
Responsibilities
- Fully able to setup and implement new firewalls and network infrastructure without assistance
- Work with other Network Engineers to manage and support client firewalls
- Monitor and triage cybersecurity incidents and event triggers from client firewalls
- Provide teaching and mentoring the entire SOC on Network related items
- Document security incident use cases, help develop and update procedures for management scale
- Provide remote support to customers for firewall, VPN (Client and P2P), and other related issues
- Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and on-call availability as needed
- Remain engaged with technical forums and user groups
- Other relevant tasks as directed by department leadership
Skills
- 7 years of experience in network and firewall management
- Fully able to setup and implement new firewalls and network infrastructure without assistance
- Work with other Network Engineers to manage and support client firewalls
- Monitor and triage cybersecurity incidents and event triggers from client firewalls
- Provide teaching and mentoring the entire SOC on Network related items
- Document security incident use cases, help develop and update procedures for management scale
- Provide remote support to customers for firewall, VPN (Client and P2P), and other related issues
- Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and on-call availability as needed
- 7+ years of working knowledge of firewall, networking, and security-related information technologies
- Knowledge of various firewalls types with required experience with Fortinet or Cisco
- Experience with administering common network services, such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, etc
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, triage, and remediate firewall and network related issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in troubleshooting in a technical environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Superior customer service skills
- Have or acquire one or more certifications in the cybersecurity domain including, but not limited to: CCENT, CCNA, NSE4 and above, PCNSE, etc
- CISCO, Fortinet, Microsoft, Network +, Security+
