The Patient Access Scheduler will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments, verifying demographic and insurance information, and providing compassionate service to patients in a call center environment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments for various services, including diagnostic, surgical, and therapy visits
• Obtain and verify necessary demographic and insurance information from patients
• Register patients and accurately enter data into the scheduling system
• Meet individual quality metrics while working in a call center environment
• Provide professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients, families, and community members

Skills

• Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
• Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology preferred
• Experience with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and EMR applications
• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines such as HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare compliance
• Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole
