Penn State University is seeking a part-time Research Analytics and Business Intelligence Specialist to support its research enterprise. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions, including Power BI reports and SQL-based data models, while collaborating with various stakeholders to turn data into actionable insights.
Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and datasets from multiple sources, and create user-friendly reporting tools
• Analyze and present data to support decision-making
• Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis
• Build and maintain data structures for reporting and analysis
• Develop and improve data models, quality, documentation, and governance
• Gather and translate business requirements into analytics solutions
• Follow established processes and standards
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define needs and deliver solutions
• Communicate insights clearly to varied audiences
• Present findings in written, visual, and verbal formats
• Support testing and implementation activities
• Manage multiple projects and priorities
Skills
• Experience with data analysis and reporting tools
• Experience working with data from multiple sources
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft office software
• Familiarity with higher education or research environments
• Experience with institutional or operational data
