Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. CrimsonXT is a fast-scaling AI infrastructure company specializing in designing and building data centers at gigawatt scale. They are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to own mechanical systems, design cooling systems, and lead the mechanical engineering team for high-density data centers.
Responsibilities
- Own mechanical systems for AI-optimized, high-density data centers, from concept and modeling through build and deployment
- Design cooling systems for AI-class density: chilled water, CDUs, direct liquid cooling
- Build modular, repeatable mechanical templates for rapid global deployment
- Act as technical bridge between internal teams and external MEP consultants
- (Lead level) Own the mechanical basis of design and master specs across the full portfolio, direct chiller/coolant/pump vendor strategy, and build/lead the mechanical engineering team
Skills
- Experience owning mechanical design for data centers or other high-density critical facilities
- Command of chilled water systems, chillers, and direct liquid cooling at high rack densities
- Comfort managing external consultants and design lifecycle from concept through IFC
- (Lead level) A track record building/leading a mechanical engineering team and setting design standards across a multi-site portfolio
- PE license
- CFD experience (6SigmaET, Icepak, Flotherm)
- ASHRAE TC 9.9 involvement
