Benefitbay® is seeking a DevOps and Platform Engineer to ensure platform availability and operational coverage during US business hours. The role involves maintaining the health and security of an AWS-hosted platform, responding to incidents, and driving modernization efforts.
Responsibilities
- Ensure platform availability and operational coverage during US business hours
- Provide near-continuous coverage of our AWS-hosted platform
- Keep the platform healthy, secure, and available during the US workday
- Drive platform improvements and modernization efforts
- Own US-hours coverage: first responder for alerts and incidents, deployments, Terraform changes, and hands-on support for a small, senior-heavy dev team
- Build shared ownership of the platform
- Provide near-continuous, resilient coverage as the product scales
Skills
- Experience managing AWS infrastructure with Terraform
- Experience with Ruby on Rails applications
- Experience with ECS Fargate
- Experience with Aurora MySQL and ElastiCache Redis
- Ability to provide near-continuous coverage during US business hours
- Experience with MySQL to PostgreSQL migration
- Experience with CI/CD consolidation
- Experience with Elastic-based observability
- Experience with disaster recovery testing
- Experience with cost optimization
- Fluency in AI-native tools and practices
