The Capital Project Manager (Life Sciences) is responsible for the technical performance of projects and business development, focusing on client satisfaction and managing high-performing teams across various client sites.
Responsibilities
- Manage and produce key project controls deliverables, including:
- Budget estimates
- Detailed project schedules and milestones
- Feasibility estimates, risks, forecasts, and scenario analysis
- Project cost reports and trend analysis
- Comprehensive monthly project summary reports
- Set and lead project direction and strategy based on client vision and expected outcomes throughout the entire project delivery life cycle
- Lead initiatives and projects by ensuring Team Members understand team and individual goals and responsibilities, managing priorities, and ensuring timely and high-quality completion of work
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert providing technical direction, training, career development, and performance assessments for project Team Members
- Develop strategies for the success of the service line or market target such as planning, scheduling, estimating, monitoring, progress measurement, risk management, training, and reporting procedures
- Manage new and existing client accounts, focusing on project delivery, actively seeking to maintain and grow accounts in line with organizational growth targets
- Manage internal site tools such as site dashboards, deliverable trackers, etc
- Maintain 100% individual billability while ensuring the site or market team achieves forecast hours & targets
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders (e.g., client executives, decision-makers) to secure long-term partnerships
- Own project extensions, proposal generation, and provides critical input into site RFPs
- Actively participate in industry events to build a local network and collaborate with the Market Director to expand client portfolios and secure high-value contracts
- Monitor and achieve operational KPIs and targets
- Review and populate site dashboards providing direction resulting in project health and expansion opportunities
- Lead, oversee, and execute client project initiatives allowing for the identification of new and added services for the mutual benefit of the client and organization
- Monitor and manage budgets and planning needs to meet the necessary project requirements
- Support the maintenance of new and existing client accounts, focusing on project delivery and actively seeking account growth
- Work with client’s business/technical leadership to facilitate workflow development, project scope development and risk assessment, issue resolution and work forecasting and planning
- Provide direction and innovation in service and/or process improvement, cost reduction and recommendations for business process optimization
- Remain current with the latest trends in the biomanufacturing industry and implement strategies that leverage changes in the marketplace into new business opportunities
- Thorough understanding of our target industries including how each sector works together, interdependence, emerging trends, and key challenges
- Mentor, train, and coach team members in client engagement, relationship management, and leadership
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Life Science, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline (OR a combination of equivalent work experience in project controls, cGMP facility start-up, project management and/or comparable military experience)
- A minimum of 10+ years of Project Engineer, Project Management, Consulting, and/or relevant industry experience
- Full-time on-site client presence
- Willingness to travel up to 100% or as required
