They are seeking a Business Development Manager based on the West Coast to drive growth by generating new business, expanding the client base, and managing relationships with current and prospective clients.
Responsibilities
- Proactive new business generation with a focus on the West Coast
- Managing existing relationships for growth through valued account management and up-selling new solutions
- Managing a robust pipeline by sourcing new opportunities
- Collaborating with the development team on shaping the offer
- Engaging and communicating effectively with senior (often C-level) decision-makers
- Accurately maintaining and developing our prospect/client database
- Developing a high level of knowledge across a broad range of company products and services
- Attending industry conferences and events to develop new business
- Monitor and analyze the drug discovery market trends
- Provide insights into the Business Unit strategy
Skills
- A Master's degree is required
- Based on the US West Coast
- Min. 5 years of sales of services or consulting experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology sector is required
- Familiarity with the Drug Discovery market
- Knowledge in Bioinformatics, AI & machine learning, software engineering, data science
- Fluent English verbal and written, at least C1 level
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in presenting to senior decision-makers in the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology sector
- Consultative, solution-oriented approach
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
- A motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
- Focused and output-driven, with time management skills, meeting deadlines
- Self-starting, flexible, and Team-player, comfortable with working with a group
- High personal standards, a willingness to learn, and an upbeat personality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ph.D. is an additional plus, preferably in a life sciences-related area
- Proven experience working in a similar role would be a plus
- Sandler Selling System experience is nice to have
