Compensation:
$85,000–$115,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, salaried, non-exempt position. Health coverage is provided through a QSEHRA reimbursement program.
The Opportunity:
Peck Firm PC is a boutique trust and estate litigation practice based in San Diego. We represent clients in high-stakes probate, trust, and fiduciary disputes throughout California.
We are hiring our first paralegal.
This is a high-trust role working directly with the firm's principal. You won't be one of many paralegals assigned a small piece of a large case. You'll become an integral part of a growing litigation practice, helping build the systems, client experience, and day-to-day operations that support exceptional legal work.
This is a primarily remote position for candidates who live in San Diego. While most work is performed remotely, the successful candidate should be available to attend hearings, trial, and other case-related proceedings in person when needed.
What You'll Do:
This role combines substantive litigation work with practice management responsibilities. You will:
• Support the principal through every phase of trust and estate litigation, including discovery, pleadings, document review and production, court filings, calendaring, and case management.
• Serve as the firm's professional first point of contact by handling client intake, scheduling, and day-to-day client communications.
• Take ownership of your work and help ensure matters move efficiently from opening through resolution.
Because the firm is small and primarily remote, you'll have substantial responsibility and autonomy from day one.
What We're Looking For:
You must satisfy California's statutory paralegal requirements under Business and Professions Code section 6450.
We're looking for someone who:
• Has meaningful litigation paralegal experience and can manage cases with minimal supervision.
• Has trust, estate, or probate litigation experience (preferred).
• Is organized, professional, exercises good judgment, communicates well, and enjoys taking ownership of their work.
Who Will Thrive Here:
The right person is proactive, dependable, and enjoys solving problems before they become someone else's.
If you're looking for a highly structured environment with multiple layers of supervision, this probably isn't the right fit.
If you're looking for meaningful work, direct responsibility, and the opportunity to help build an outstanding boutique litigation practice from the inside, we'd love to hear from you.
