We are seeking an experienced econometrician or applied economist to help design the empirical strategy for two academic essays in the field of corporate finance and tax policy.
What we need:
- Review and refine the research design for two empirical studies
- Advise on the best econometric approaches given the available data
- Help define variables, identification strategies, and robustness checks
- Provide guidance on potential methodological pitfalls and how to address them
Databases to be used:
- Orbis Europe (Bureau van Dijk)
- CompNet (Competitiveness Research Network)
Ideal candidate:
- PhD in Economics, Finance, or related field (or equivalent research experience)
- Strong background in applied microeconometrics (panel data methods, fixed effects, matching techniques, etc.)
- Experience working with firm-level financial data (ideally Orbis or similar databases)
- Published work or demonstrable experience in corporate finance, tax policy, or industrial organization is a plus
- Familiarity with EU economic context preferred
