Project Scope:
Seeking an experienced Mainframe COBOLDeveloper to support production Medicaid systems through applicationmaintenance, enhancements, and production support activities. The consultantwill work on production backfill, small enhancement projects, and collaboratewith development, QA, operations, and business teams to deliver reliable andhigh-quality solutions.
The ideal candidate will have extensiveexperience with Mainframe technologies including COBOL, IDMS, and CA-ADS, withthe ability to analyze technical specifications, implement coding changes,perform testing, and support production environments. This role also includesparticipation in an on-call support rotation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop andmaintain Mainframe applications using COBOL, CA-ADS, and IDMS databases.
- Analyze technicaland design specifications to implement application enhancements and productionfixes.
- Debug, unit test,and integration test application changes.
- Support QualityAssurance, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and external testing by resolvingdefects and implementing required code changes.
- Collaborate withdevelopment, QA, operations, and business teams throughout the softwaredevelopment lifecycle.
- Maintain andsupport production Medicaid applications and related systems.
- Participate inon-call production support on a rotational basis.
- Troubleshootproduction issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Communicatetechnical solutions effectively with internal teams and stakeholders.
- Followestablished coding standards, documentation practices, and change managementprocedures.

- 10+ years ofMainframe development experience.
- 10+ years of MVSCOBOL development experience.
·10+ years of IDMSdatabase experience.
- 10+ years ofCA-ADS development experience.
·5+ years of JCLexperience.
- Strong debugging,testing, and production support experience.
- Excellent writtenand verbal communication skills.
- Stronganalytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to workindependently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
